2021 JUDGING CRITERIA

Our Judges

We're adding judges to our panel! If you have at least a decade experience in healthcare with a deep understanding of the tools, processes and technologies used, we encourage you to apply today.

Digital Awards Judging Criteria
In the quarterfinalist judging round, the companies are evaluated on a set of parameters to determine the top fifteen entries in each category:
1. In-Market: Is the solution purchasable by patients, payers or providers?

2. Functionality: What specific outcomes are you improving and does the product or the solution deliver them?

3. Validation: Does the product or the solution really work? Is it FDA approved? Does it have verifiable success stories and customer testaments to its efficacy?

4. Customer Traction: Is the product or the solution widely used, and how impactful is it to the patient?
The quarterfinalists are then evaluated on the following criteria to determine the top five entries in each category as finalists:
1. Innovation: Does the product or the solution introduce a new capability of significant improvement?

2. Impact: How has the product or the solution helped improve the standard of care and improved patient outcomes while improving user satisfaction?

3. Value: Does the product or the solution help reduce the overall cost of healthcare and is it cost-effective?
One winner in each category is then chosen among the finalists based on a set of refined criteria that include:
1. Reimbursement: Is the product or the solution reimbursed by a national or private insurance payor?

2. Evidence: What evidence of benefit has the product or the solution established? Has it been validated by a clinical trial or a research study?

3. Differentiation: Does the product or the solution represent a true breakthrough in the cluttered market by providing a totally new or more useful functionality than other solutions?
Life Sciences Awards Judging Criteria
In the quarterfinalist judging round, the companies are evaluated on a set of parameters to determine the top fifteen entries in each category:
1. Unmet need: How large is the patient unmet need for this drug, drug candidate or platform technology? How big of an impact will this technology have on these patients?

2. Validation: Are there any strategic partnerships or peer-reviewed publications that validate this technology? Is there significant strength in the scientific advisory board?

3. Track Record: Does the company have a track record of successful execution on preclinical, clinical and/or commercial milestones?
The quarterfinalists are then evaluated on the following criteria to determine the top five entries in each category as finalists:
1. Innovation: Does the drug, drug candidate or platform technology represent a new approach or modality, or an clinical improvement on an existing product or technology?

2. Impact: Is the company advancing either a first-in-class or best-in-class product?

3. Value: How does the product or technology improve patient outcomes while reducing cost-burden to the healthcare system?
One winner in each category is then chosen among the finalists based on a set of refined criteria that include:
1. Evidence: What preclinical, clinical and/or real world evidence exists to support the safety and efficacy?

2. Speed to Market: If not already, how quickly can patients experience the impact from these technologies?

3. Groundbreaking:
Will this drug, drug candidate or platform technology disrupt the treatment paradigm for diseases of high unmet need or global health crises?
